The Purpose of Psychotherapy is

to help individuals identify and change troubling emotions, thoughts and behaviours

I’m Millicent a counsellor/psychotherapist with over ten-years of experience in Private practice, Charity Organization  Services and NHS Mental Health Services. I work with people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological problems to help them bring about effective change and enhance their health and well-being.

My multicultural competency and ability to see different perspectives enables me to meet people where they are in the here and now and help them overcome their problems and make appropriate changes to their lives.

I aim  to provide a confidential space for you to feel comfortable and at ease to talk openly about your feelings and thoughts, so that we can work at a suitable pace for you.
I combined various treatment techniques  to suit your individual needs,  these techniques will help you grown and reach your full potential.

The example of the therapies used in my practice. Integrative therapy. It involves selecting the technique from different therapeutic orientations to best suit your particular problems. Motivational interviewing – I will ask open questions that will draw out and explore your experiences, perspectives, and ideas, Person Centre Therapy, this therapy is to provide a non-judgemental environment conducive to honest self-exploration, during the session, the processes will help you to see yourself more clearly and be in touch with your true self. Humanistic Therapy – you will be encouraged to do some soul -searching and determine what is missing from your life style and Cognitive Behavior Techniques –This therapy helps you to change unhelpful or unhealthy ways of thinking and behaving.

Stress Management

Whether you’re suffering from panic attacks, obsessive thoughts, unrelenting worries, or an incapacitating phobia, it’s important to know that you don’t have to live with anxiety and fear. Treatment can help, and for many anxiety problems, therapy is often the most effective option.

When you’re depressed, it can feel like you’ll never get out from under a dark place. However, even the most severe depression is treatable. So, if your depression is keeping you from living the life you want to, don’t hesitate to seek help. From therapy to medication to healthy lifestyle changes, there are many different treatment options available.

Stress therapy, also known as stress management or stress management therapy, can be very helpful for people to learn how to manage stressful situations or problem arises.
